Local 13 year old Web development firm is seeking a full time experienced PHP programmer. Applicants must have the ability to design, plan and see projects through completion. In addition, the applicant must be driven, innovative and have a thirst to learn new technology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are imperative.
Responsibilities:
- Build web-based applications and websites
- Create and maintain existing PHP codebases
- Implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications
- Prioritize tasks and multi-task in order to set and meet project deadlines
- Work closely with graphic designers and other team members
- Design and optimize MySQL databases
- Perform maintenance and updates to existing websites and custom PHP-based software
- Interact effectively with clients
Requirements:
- Background in web administration
- Understanding of CMS systems
- At least 3 years work experience in web content and/or web applications development
- Proficent working knowledge of the following:
- Apache
- PHP
- MySQL
- HTML and CSS
- Javascript (including AJAX techniquies and jQuery) and XML
- Subversion and version control systems
Helpful Experience:
- FreeBSD and/or Linux server administration
- Cloud hosting environments
- Understanding of back-end and hosting infrastructure, including BIND, DNS and Apache configuration
This is a full-time on-site position available immediately. Part-time and freelance consultants will not be considered for this position.
